Staff Accountant

Position Summary:

Key player supporting financial operations through technical excellence and internal customer service. High interest and aptitude for progressive development in financial reporting and process improvement. Demonstrates resourcefulness in creation and use of spreadsheets for solutions and results. This position reports to the Director of Accounting and Finance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

· Contribute to period close and financial reporting for multiple locations across 6 states

· Prepare routine monthly bank and other balance sheet reconciliations

· Create and process monthly manual journal entries

· Coordinate with other departments to effectively process financial transactions

· Research and resolve exceptions and provide input to prevent recurrence

· Assist in preparation of documents and other support for periodic external audits

· Review employee expense reports and create associated monthly journal entry

· Paperless accounts payable workflow analysis and reporting, including assisting with importing electronic vendor invoices into paperless system during the peak season (May-Sep)

· Other duties, reporting and projects as assigned

Critical Knowledge and Skills:

· Understand different transactions and processes to assess the impact from an accounting and finance perspective

· Proficiency in MS Office, with emphasis on Excel

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Ability to work well with others in a team environment

· Strong mathematical and analytical skills

· Process-oriented with ability to learn and find solutions

· Independent, dependable, and goal-driven

· Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines

Education and Experience:

· Associate's Degree in finance, accounting, or closely related subject preferred

· Minimum 2 years of accounting or finance experience

· Sage X3 ERP experience preferred

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
